Gun violence has a significant impact on communities: both nationally and in Pennsylvania. In 2024, guns claimed 44,447 lives in the United States. Of these, 1,624 Pennsylvania lives were lost to guns in suicides (1,079), homicides (503), and other firearm deaths (42).
