Not since the late 1980s and early 1990s has there been such a wide variety of assault pistols available for sale on the U.S. civilian market. This study contains more than 20 examples of assault pistols currently marketed in the United States, led by AK-47 and AR-15 pistols that offer assault rifle power in a compact pistol format.
