This study discusses how the National Rifle Association has worked to block federal regulation of black and smokeless powder, which has been used to construct pipe bombs targeting political figures, the media, and others. The study details how since the 1970s the NRA combated the regulation of these easily available explosives to the benefit of domestic and foreign terrorists. It also details how the NRA’s “corporate partners” benefit financially from the sale of black or smokeless powder.
