New VPC Study Reveals "Hidden" Gun Manufacturers Across Wisconsin

Hundreds of Wisconsin residents possess a federal license to manufacture firearms, yet relatively few actually produce any guns according to Wisconsin’s Hidden Gun Manufacturers, a new study from the VPC as part of its ongoing Campaign for Gun Industry Accountability. The license — known as a Type 07 Federal Firearms License (FFL) and issued by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) — offers privileges not granted to private citizens buying a gun. Nine out of 10 Women Murdered by Men are Killed by Someone They Know and Nearly Two Thirds Die by Gunfire, New VPC Study Finds

More than 2,400 females were killed by males in 2023 and of these, 89.9 percent knew their killer. Guns were used in 64.9 percent of the attacks according to the most recent edition of the annual VPC study When Men Murder Women: An Analysis of 2023 Homicide Data.
