Washington, DC — One of the nation’s fiercest advocates for gun violence prevention, former White House Press Secretary James Brady, has passed away. VPC Executive Director Josh Sugarmann made the following statement:
“For more than 30 years, Jim Brady was an indefatigable leader in the movement to end the gun violence epidemic. In the face of great personal adversity, he stepped forward to lead a relentless campaign to make America a safer place. His tremendous personal courage and from-the-heart advocacy were an example for all of us working to reduce gun violence. We send our deepest condolences to his family.”
